About the Role:
You are an ambitious and hard-working professional who enjoys a fast work environment as a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate. You will be in charge of developing and implementing quality assurance documents such as SOP’s, batch production records, policies, conducting tests and inspections, identifying production, process, or product issues and presenting solutions.
As a Quality Assurance Associate, you will….
- Follows Token’s policies and promotes company’s safety policies, mission statement and core values.
- Proactively practices and promotes a safe work ethic and attitude.
- Demonstrate understanding of health and safety related to chemical SDS’s and WHMIS
- Complies with current Cannabis Regulations (SOR/2018-144), Cannabis Act (S.C. 2018, c16), Good Production Practices (GPP- Part 5 of the Cannabis Reg.), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), Tokens Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Writes, reviews, revises SOPs, BPR’s and forms to ensure they reflect current practice and meets regulatory requirements.
- Proactively models and maintains efficient and effective working relationships and communicates with co-workers, supervisors, and management teams.
- Assists in monitoring GPP standards to ensure they are maintained.
- Assists in performing investigations and risk mitigation pertaining to cannabis or ingredients which pose a risk of injure to human health.
- Organizes and deals with complaints received in respect of the quality of the cannabis and, works with QA manager to implement corrective and preventative measures as required.
- Generates and/or addresses deviations, conducts root cause analysis and works with the QA team to develop recommendations for corrective and preventative actions.
- Responsible for reviewing and approval of product labels from a regulatory and product perspective, including, equivalency, variable data, ingredients and nutritional facts.
- Reviews NNCP submissions and product call documentation.
- Participates in interactions with Health Canada
- Assists in monitoring cannabis inventory.
- Guides new vendors through our vendor approval process.
- Assists in obtaining documentation for raw materials and ingredients are obtained from approved vendors.
- Assist in streamlining processes and improving overall efficiency within the team
- Assists QAP in gathering documents and dealing with recalls (including recall simulation) and adverse reaction reports.
- Helps to train and mentor quality control staff.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be familiar with Health Canada Cannabis Act and Regulations, especially packaging and labelling regulations across all cannabis classes
- Provide SOP, GPP/GMP training to staff.
- Absorb and apply new information and skills quickly to solve complex problems
- Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of projects on schedule
- Practices excellent time management skills
